Mark Einstein passed away unexpectedly this past New Year’s Eve. (December 31, 2018) .

For over 30 years,  Mark was a Partner/Director of Tax and Real Estate Services at CohnReznick.  He guided developers, investors, and syndicators in structuring tax-advantaged real estate transactions with a particular focus on affordable housing and historic rehabilitation.  After his retirement from CohnReznick, he established his own company to continue that work.

Mark was a long-time active member of NH&RA, APAH, among others,  and started the Tax Credit Summit held each year in                  Baltimore, MD.

Mark's  most recent role was one of which he was most proud.  Mark was the Chairman of the David Reznick Foundation in memory of his mentor who was a leader in the industry and greatly beloved.

Mark assumed this role to honor David’s values by supporting those who are less fortunate through college tuition grants, the preservation of affordable housing and community revitalization.

Mark was also known for his passion for boating.  He and his wife, Dee, enjoyed taking their boat up and down the East Coast and over to the Bahamas often with their children Justin Einstein, Emily Dunenfeld and Christopher Dunenfeld.

Last year, Mark and Dee traveled around the world by cruise ship and visited destinations on all continents.

Survivors also include his sister and brother-in-law, Stephany and Alan Steinberg, his brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Tricia Einstein, and several sister and brother-in-laws, nieces and nephews.
